Who we are?

The best ideas are not born in silos or by avoiding feedback and input from a broad spectrum of people. The best ideas are created by going beyond borders and getting curious about other approaches, cultures and procedures. To build resilience, we believe in diversity. Diversity in age, creed, culture, gender and background. We stimulate divergence by working across boundaries both within the organisation and beyond the organisation. We take care of each other. We hold space for each other to share perspective. We are all ecosystem facilitators cultivating the right conditions conducive for our organisation to flourish. We all understand our organisation is a living system.

I3-4-SEAWEED business case

One of the key business cases of the I3-4-SEAWEED project is the development of a digital twinning solution specifically designed for offshore seaweed farming, led by HAEDES. This innovative system creates a virtual model of seaweed farms, allowing producers to monitor conditions, forecast outcomes, and optimize operations in real time. It marks a major step forward for “Aquaculture 4.0,” bringing advanced digital tools into the growing offshore aquaculture sector.

Developed in close collaboration with seaweed farmers, the digital twinning system features smart monitoring tools, flexible settings for different farm setups, and an easy-to-use interface. A pilot site will demonstrate how it can boost efficiency by over 30% in real offshore conditions. This business case shows how digital tools can make seaweed farming more sustainable, scalable, and reliable. It supports the shift to smarter, low-impact aquaculture and strengthens Europe’s blue bioeconomy.
